Definition
Diamond Burnishing Tool is a tool, the functional part of which is a mono- or polycrystalline diamond of spherical, cylindrical or similar shape, fixed in a shank. Diamond burnishing tools with a spherical functional part are universal.
Application
Diamond burnishing tools are used to increase the surface hardness of machine parts and improve surface quality by decreasing surface roughness. They ensure high-quality results in the burnishing of the ferrous, refractory, stainless, and non-ferrous metals and their alloys.
Burnishing tools are used for:
· Processing of thin-walled parts of complex profile and configuration;
· Increasing the accuracy of a geometrical form of parts;
· Reduction of the height of microroughness (by 4-5 times).
